Cape Point Mountain Getaway offers three seperate, off-grid eco dwellings each with sea and mountain views, on the slopes of the Table Mountain Chain above False Bay near Cape Point. These are:

A Historic Villa with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open plan kitchen and dining room and a living room, all with expansive, uninterrupted ocean and mountain views and outdoor decks;
A Stone Cottage with one bedroom and en-suite bathroom, an open plan kitchen built into the mountainside and surrounded by a magnificent open-plan garden;
A Forest Hideaway an open-plan wood and glass cabin hidden, in a ravine, under a canopy of Afromontane trees, beside a small mountain stream.

The Getaway's Sustainable features include

a) environmental conscious accomodation designed to blend into the natural landscape

b) energy efficient systems and renewable energy solutions

c) minimal Waste Operations with recycling and composting progrmmes

d) responsible water conservation initiatives

e) locally sourced products and support for nearby communities

The Getaway is situated in the Castle Rock Conservancy which in turn is surrounded by Table Mountain National Park. on three sides and a protected marine reserve on the other. It is less than 4 kilometres from Cape Point Nature Reserve and 8 kilometres from the centre of Simons Town. It's nearest neighbours are 800 metres away.

No outside fires
No smoking except at designated spots
No parties and no loud music. The property maintains a strict quiet and no party policy to preserve the atmosphere, respect other guests and disturb the environment as little as possible
Friends are welcome to visit but where possible hosts should be advised

Do not use your own appliances without first enquiring with the hosts. (Exceptions are cell phone chargers, notebooks and small speakers)
Hair dryers, air fryers, nutri-bullets and similar appliances are not permitted (the solar energy system will be damaged if they are used and guests will be liable for the cost of replacement)
Conserve energy and water
Do not leave windows or doors open when you are not around. The Getaway is part of a nature conservancy that is visited on occasion by a troop of baboons

Cancellation Policy

Flexible Standard Cancellation: Free cancellation up to 48 days prior to your scheduled check-in date. 50% deposit refunded for cancellations between 48 hours and 7 days before check in Cancellations that happen less than 72 hours prior to check-in or no-shows forfeit the deposit/payment according to standard booking platform rules.

Key Property Terms & House Rules

No pets allowed - we are in a Nature Conservancy surrounded by national park land.
Because Cape Point Mountain Getaway operates off-grid, special terms apply to protect the local environment and solar infrastructure:

High-Wattage Appliances Forbidden: Hair dryers and other high-power heating appliances are strictly prohibited as they will damage the solar energy system.
Stair Access: The property is situated on a steep mountainside, requiring guests to climb 39 stairs from the parking lot to the units.
Amenities Exclusions: Units are eco-focused and intentionally do not include TVs, washing machines, or dishwashers.
Fire Safety: Outside fires are not permitted owing to high fire risk. Gas Webers are provided.
Physical Access. Access requires walking up stone steps or on a mountain path (depending on the dwelling) so guests should be prepared for stairs on arrival.
