Standard Establishment Rules & Guest Policies

1. Power & Appliances (Off-Grid / Solar System)

Solar-Powered Eco Lodge: The lodge runs on solar power.
Strict Power Limit: High-wattage or heating appliances are strictly prohibited (e.g., hair dryers, hair straighteners, electric kettles, air fryers, microwaves, or electric heaters). Using these will trip the power system for the whole property. Charging laptops, phones, camera batteries, and low-power devices is fully supported.

2. Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in: 14:00 – 18:00 (Late arrivals must arrange in advance due to reserved access).
Check-out: 10:00 AM.

3. Quiet Hours & Conduct

Quiet hours: 22:00 – 07:00. Music and excessive noise are strictly prohibited to respect fellow guests and surrounding wildlife.
Day visitors or private parties are not permitted without prior authorization from management.

4. Environmental Protection & Reserve Etiquette

UNESCO Buffer Zone: Do not feed, disturb, or harm any wildlife or natural flora.
Litter & Bins: Keep all food and trash in designated wildlife-proof bins at all times to avoid attracting monkeys or stray animals.
Cultural Heritage: Do not touch, enter, or interfere with the historic Tsonga fish traps in the Kosi estuary.

5. Fire & Braai Safety

Open fires are permitted only in designated braai (BBQ) facilities and communal boma areas.
Never leave fires unattended, and ensure coals are completely extinguished before sleeping or departing.

6. Swimming Pool & Estuary Safety

Use of the lodge swimming pool is at your own risk; no lifeguard is on duty. Children must be supervised at all times.
Take extreme caution with ocean tides and strong currents when swimming in the estuary or beach areas.

7. Vehicles & Parking

Parking is restricted to designated guest areas.
Drive strictly on established tracks; driving off-road damages fragile coastal forest soil and vegetation.

8. Pets & Smoking

No Pets: Pets are strictly prohibited due to local nature reserve regulations.
No Smoking Indoors: Smoking is strictly prohibited inside chalets, tents, and under thatched roofs. Please use designated outdoor areas and dispose of butts safely.
